Finding Your Perfect Match: Our Streamlined Adoption Process
We understand the journey you've taken to find the perfect Bernese Mountain Dog puppy for your family. We understand you've invested time researching breeds and browsed countless adorable pictures (who can resist!). We're honored you chose us to provide you with your perfect puppy.
Our adoption process is designed to be informative and efficient.
The process starts with our Puppy Application. This application allows us to get to know you and your family, just as it gives you a chance to learn more about us and our breeding program.
The Puppy Application is often our first interaction and it's an important step. We want to ensure our loving puppies find forever homes that can offer the same level of care and affection they receive here.

The Puppy Application helps us understand your ideal puppy in terms of characteristics like gender, temperament and more. It also gives you the opportunity to ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of our program, our breeding dogs and the puppies themselves.
We'll work together to provide the Bernese Mountain Dog puppy that is the perfect match for you.
Step Two
Once we receive your Puppy Application, we'll be in touch to schedule a phone interview. This conversation is a great opportunity for us to delve a little deeper. We'll learn more about your family and what you're seeking in a puppy, while you have the chance to ask any questions you may have about us and our program. These phone interviews typically last around 30 minutes; but puppies are our passion so sometimes the conversation extends a bit longer!
Step Three
Based on your Puppy Application and phone interview we'll reserve you a spot for an upcoming litter that aligns with your desired puppy characteristics.
Step Four
Once your litter arrives get ready for adorable puppy pictures! We'll keep you updated with pictures and FaceTime so you can meet your future furry friend virtually. As the litter grows we'll send 4 emails packed full of information regarding the development of you puppy, tons of pictures and videos, shopping lists, training tips and best-practices to welcome a new puppy into your home. Puppy selection takes place after temperament testing at 7 weeks old. Temperament testing gives us the necessary information to match you with the perfect puppy for your lifestyle. We consider both your wants and the puppy's needs to ensure a lifelong, natural and intuitive, bond.
Step Five
Puppies typically head to their forever homes at 8 weeks old (unless they're enrolled in our Extended Basic Manners Training). We'll schedule a convenient pick-up time at Bernese Boutique in advance.
Flying in? Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee (MKE) is the closest commercial option. If you're flying private, Waukesha County Airport (KUES) is the best option. We'll gladly meet you at the airport with your puppy!
If you prefer to have us arrange travel for your puppy let us know and we'll take care of everything. We have tons of experience traveling with a puppy in-cabin on commercial flights and will personally bring your puppy to you. For closer trips (5 hours or less via car) we will personally provide ground transportation. Whether you come to us or we come to you: Your puppy will go directly from our loving hands and care to yours, no matter where you're located.
Payment for your puppy is required at time of pick up.
