Nurturing New Life: Cuddles and Care
The healthiest start in life lays the foundation for a happy and well-rounded Bernese Mountain Dog. Our whelping environment prioritizes stress-free calmness while ensuring the safety and well-being of both mothers and puppies.
Our Bernese Mountain Dog Puppies are born in our living room where the safety and well-being of both mom and her litter are our highest priorities. From the moment a puppy arrives they receive exceptional care and love. Raised within our home - not in a separate kennel or building - our puppies become part of our family, where they are nurtured, played with and cherished until the day they join your family.
We meticulously monitor each puppy's weight and provide any necessary nutritional supplements or bottle-feeding for those puppies needing extra support. Quite simply, we do everything in our power to ensure every puppy gets the healthiest possible start to life.
During the first 4 weeks the puppies remain in our living room alongside their mother, allowing them to grow in a comforting close-knit environment. At 4 weeks the Bernese Mountain Dog puppies transition to a custom-designed puppy room, providing them with the space and resources to continue their journey of exploration, play, learning and growth. Additionally we have play areas right outside of our puppy room door so puppies can enjoy learning and exploring safely in nature under our close supervision.
At seven weeks old we conduct temperament testing so we can better understand each puppy's personality. This structured and systematic evaluation highlights both the puppy's static and dynamic traits giving them a "voice" to share who they truly are. Becky uses the insights from this assessment, combined with your puppy application and interview, to recommend a Bernese Mountain Dog puppy that aligns best with your lifestyle and family needs, ensuring the foundation for a perfect match.
Before heading home with you, each puppy undergoes a thorough wellness check with our veterinarian. Each and every puppy is examined nose to tail and sent home with a detailed, individualized, 3-page vet report card.
Our Bernese Mountain Dog puppies are up to date on all vaccinations when it's time to go home. We also provide a two-year health guarantee and include one month of complimentary pet insurance through Trupanion, with the option to continue coverage if you desire. To ease the transition to a new home and minimize separation anxiety we send each puppy with a Snuggle Puppy - a comforting companion with a soothing heartbeat and familiar scents.
Your Perfect Bernese Mountain Dog Starts with Exceptional Parents
We prioritize the health and genetic integrity of our Bernese Mountain Dog puppies by completing thorough health and genetic testing on all moms and dads to-be before breeding occurs. Additionally, every female Bernese Mountain Dog in our program receives a pre-breeding examination from our world-class veterinarian before each breeding cycle. Ensuring we are starting with genetically-diverse healthy parents free from potential health issues later in life is essential to our breeding program. The philosophy is simple: Healthy parents make healthy puppies.
Our breeding dogs live fulfilling lives cherished as family pets within our home or in loving Guardian Homes. All of our moms and dads are integral parts of their human-family. This philosophy extends to our Bernese Mountain Dog puppies, who are born and raised in our home and showered with care, love and attention from the moment they enter the world.
To support the well-being of our Bernese Mountain Dogs they are fed a nutrient-rich diet tailored to their specific needs, considering their age, body type, stage of life and preference. Veterinary care for every mom, dad and puppy in our program is administered by a specialized reproductive veterinarian who delivers expert, compassionate care to maintain the highest standards for the health and happiness of our BMD's and their puppies.
Breeding pairings are carefully selected based on pedigrees, genetic and health test results, temperament, size, structure and physical appearance of the parents-to-be. With the diverse range of pedigrees, sizes and personalities of the Bernese Mountain Dogs in our program we're able to provide the healthy, gorgeous, loving puppy of your dreams.

Health Testing
Every breeding dog in our program undergoes extensive health and genetic testing before being considered for breeding. We carefully select breeding pairs based on a combination of factors including health and genetic test results, temperament and physical characteristics. Our goal is to produce the healthiest puppies possible to thrive as a happy and loving family companion for years to come.
Part of the Family
Our breeding dogs are family pets first and foremost and loved as such. Puppies are delivered in our living room and spend the first 4 weeks of their life with us there. At 5 weeks, when the Bernese Mountain Dog puppies need more room and more stimulation, they are moved to a specially designed and built "puppy room" in our house. This space gives the puppies room to explore, learn and play as they grow to 8 weeks while keeping them nearby for supervision and cuddles.
What to Expect
We will keep you up to date on the development of your puppy via text, email, FaceTime and videos. All puppies are sent home vaccinated, dewormed and with a health certificate and report card from our specialized breeding veterinarian. We take great pride in the heath and well-being of every puppy in our care and provide a 2 year health guarantee. We provide tips, training-basics and product recommendations to help make your puppy's transition to your home as smooth as possible for you and your puppy.

Laying the Groundwork to Train Your Puppy
All of our puppies are introduced to Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of mild exercises that expose them to gentle stimulations and stressors. These activities help jump-start the puppy's neurological development, enhancing their natural abilities and building resilience. Originally developed by the U.S. Military to optimize the performance of working dogs, ENS has shown remarkable results. While the process requires daily dedication, puppies that experience ENS are better equipped to handle environmental stressors throughout their lives, resulting in well-rounded, confident dogs.
Puppy potty-training is introduced in the whelping area when the puppies are 3 weeks old and then expanded on at 4 weeks when they snuggle in to our puppy room. It's amazing how fast well-loved and confident puppies learn there is a specific and correct spot to go potty!
As your puppy approaches five weeks old we begin introducing them to crate training. We understand crates are a valuable tool – not for a dog to spend every minute of their life in, but for specific situations. This might include nighttime sleep, when you're running errands, or simply when both you and the puppy need some individual space. Crate training also goes hand-in-hand with potty training while also providing a safe and secure den environment for your Bernese Mountain Dog puppy.
